Grow at 45-55° F to promote new root growth while keeping soil slightly damp. Iris prefers to dry thoroughly between waterings and to avoid overly wet soil conditions. Plants will generally finish in 6-8 weeks based on growing conditions.

Plant in well draining professional potting soil keeping 25-50% of rhizome above the soil surface with roots below. Once potted, water sparingly and apply a broad spectrum fungicide according to directions to avoid crown and root rot.
Plant in medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun. Plant pre-potted iris in late spring or dry roots in late summer. Top of rhizome likes to be exposed to sunlight.
