Itoh Peony

Intersectional or “Itoh” peonies are hybrids between woody tree peonies
and herbaceous garden peonies. The result is a disease resistant plant with a longer blooming season due to their ability to produce primary and secondary buds once the plant is established. Its lower compact habit and sturdier stems, allow it to support up to 30 flowers per well-established plant. They are easy to grow in full to part sun, in well-drained soil.

How to Order

Bare Root

You can order Itoh Peonies in bare root form in retail packaging for early season sales, from our 2023 Spring Garden Center Catalog.

You can also order them from our 2023 Perennial Catalog, and grow them yourself. We recommend planting in a 3 gallon or larger containers in spring or fall for the following year’s sale. For premium crop, an 18 month growing cycle is recommended.
