Gaultheria procumbens 'Redwood TM'

Creeping shrub that grows 6 inches tall with scalloped, glossy dark green leaves. Blooms urn shaped white or pale pink flowers in summer that mature to scarlet fruit.

Greenhouse Growing Instructions:

Grow on at 50-65° F providing 50% shade, and keeping plants evenly moist but never wet or completely dry. Gaultheria generally finish in 6-10 weeks based on growing conditions.

Transplanting Instructions:

Plant in well draining humus rich soil with 4.5-6.0 pH. Keep crown of plant at same level it was in the plug. Once potted, water immediately and apply a broad spectrum fungicide according to directions to avoid crown and root rot.

Homeowner Planting and Maintenance Tips:

Plant in an area that receives light shade, or remains shaded throughout the day. Shade tolerant, but will not tolerate drought. Excellent choice for native gardens, and functions as a woodland ground cover.
