False Spirea

Astilbe arendsii 'Go Go Red'

Clumps of fern-like foliage with upright, plume-like flower stalks.

Garden Astilbe are a popular choice for shady gardens, where they perform well if given a rich, moist soil and regular watering. This selection features long, narrow dark-red plumes of flowers, over a mound of elegant, lacy green leaves, bronze in spring. Also thrives in tubs, or mixed containers. Fertilize in April and June. Excellent for cutting. Seed heads may be removed, or left on the plant for winter interest. Plants should be divided every 2 to 3 years, in early spring.
