Despite the name, Lungworts are valuable perennials for the spring shade garden, dependable in their long display. This excellent selection features large clusters of cobalt-blue flowers, set over a clump of pointed green leaves, heavily spotted with silver. Mounding habit, good vigour. Combines especially well with Narcissus of all kinds, and most other spring flowering bulbs. Cut foliage back after flowering is over, to rejuvenate. Easily divided in early fall. Greenhouse Growing Instructions:

Grow on at 55-60° F with 50% shade to keep roots cool in production. Keep soil evenly moist, not overly wet or dry. Once actively growing feed at 100-150 ppm N with each watering. Provide good air circulation and keep leaves dry to avoid disease. Plants generally finish in 6-8 weeks based on growing conditions.

Transplanting Instructions:

Plant in well draining professional potting soil keeping crown of plant at same level it was in the plug. Once potted, water immediately and apply a broad spectrum fungicide according to directions to avoid crown and root rot.

Easy to grow in full shade to partial sun in a sandy or clay soil. Combines well with narcissus and spring flowering bulbs.
