Siberian Iris

Iris sibirica 'Mixture'

Flowers are deep violet-purple blooms with black veining and white and yellow throats.

The Siberian iris are an easy, trouble-free group, forming clumps of grassy foliage with a late spring display of butterfly-like flowers. Plants are sturdy and upright, and seldom troubled by Iris borer. This taller selection has deep royal-blue flowers with a gold throat. Siberian iris are tolerant of wet sites, and will even grow in the shallow water at the edge of a pond or stream. Also suitable for using in tubs and mixed containers. Cut the dying foliage back in late fall. Easily divided in early fall, every 3 to 4 years. CAUTION: Harmful if eaten.
