Grow at 65-75°F in high light conditions. Keep soil moist but not overly wet until they break dormancy. Once actively growing begin your fertilizer program as cannas are heavy feeders. Finish times will vary based on growing conditions.

Plant in well draining potting soil. Set the rhizome horizontally in the pot with eyes facing up, then cover with 2" of soil. Once potted, water well immediately and apply a broad spectrum fungicide to avoid crown and root rot.
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Remove dead flower stems by cutting down the stem to the nearest good leaf. This will give the plant more energy to keep producing more flowers.
