Hybrid Astilbe

Astilbe 'Delft Lace®' PP019839

Clumps of fern-like foliage with upright, plume-like flower stalks.

Astilbe are a popular choice for shady gardens, where they perform well if given a rich, moist soil and regular watering. This midsized selection has fluffy plumes of soft pink held on deep-red stems. The lacy foliage is blue-green overlaid in silver and stays attractive all season. Great in the border, also thrives in tubs or mixed containers. Fertilize in April and June. Excellent for cutting. Seed heads may be removed, or left on the plant for winter interest. Will tolerate full sun, in cool summer regions. Bred by H. Holtmaat in the Netherlands. USPP#19839: unlicensed propagation prohibited. Registered with COPF.

Homeowner Planting and Maintenance Tips:

Easy to grow in moist, well-drained soil in partial shade. Follow a watering schedule for first growing season to establish your plant. Can divide clumps every 3-5 years in early spring if desired.
